The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) is experiencing a severe power crisis due to a prolonged dry spell and reduced power generation. The current supply falls short of demand by around 500 MW, causing a significant financial burden. Efforts are in place to address this through initiatives such as the phase-2 Green Energy Corridor (GEC) project and the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS).
